The Drunken Gobbo

dysonlogosDescription
Mistakes were made. And mistakes continue to be made.
Numerous goblin slaves escaped the razing of the Giants Hearth. Some were from communities that had been wiped out and had nowhere to go. Some became bandits, but one group petitioned the Reeve of the nearby town to be able to settle on the edge of town. A few of the goblins were miners, but the majority had worked in the giants’ brewery and wanted to bring their knowledge to town. And thus the Drunken Gobbo brewery came into existence. The first few years were rough as the goblins didn’t actually quite know what they were doing, but things improved, and now we have a small goblin brewery producing some of the worst ale known to the five empires.
I don’t mean to say it is undrinkable. It is clearly ale, and doesn’t have any odd tastes or ingredients. It just… always tastes like it was lightstruck. And if it gets lightstruck? Then it quickly becomes undrinkable.
The brewery itself is dug into a hillside with only the main working area being in a conventional wooden building. The entrance for the townsfolk and clients is the stairs up to a set of double doors cut into the hillside. Within is a small bar that stinks of stale beer and other yellow fluids. There are rarely any locals here except for a few goblins, as the ale is awful and the place stinks like… like only a goblin brewery can.
Through the doors from here is the mezzanine overlooking the production and storage floor of the brewery. Cut into the hill behind this are the miniature goblin warrens that support the Drunken Gobbo. A set of irregularly cut caves are the familiar and smelly home of the goblins who work here, with one squared-off room serving as a workroom and store room for the occupants. There are something around a dozen or two goblins living and working out of the brewery. Four to six of them are away on any particular day making deliveries and picking up raw materials.
*This was a request during one of my livestreams, and I definitely channelled a lot of the dwarven brewery from the “Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep” DLC for Borderlands 2.*
*The 1200 dpi versions of the map were drawn at a scale of 300 pixels per square and are 9,000 x 5,400 pixels (30 x 18 squares). To use this with a VTT you would need to resize the squares to either 10 pixels (for the recommended 5′ squares that work with the furnishings as shown) or 200 pixels (for more traditional old-school 10‘ foot) – so resizing the image to 3,000 x 1,800 pixels or 3,000 x 3,600 pixels, respectively.*
