The Bridge Gate Dungeons

dysonlogosDescription
Beneath the eastern gatehouses of the Old Bridge Gate are a small set of basements and mostly-flooded dungeons beneath that. The two cellar levels of the structure are damp stairs leading down from one small level to the next, with more and more moisture coming through the walls on each level. The uppermost of these (level 1) basements is accessed via a ladder of rusted iron bars mounted into the moist stone walls beneath the trapdoor in the southeastern corner of the structure. These basements were used to store light goods that were easily carried up or down the ladder, with the upper level still having a few old boxes of rusty hand tools.
The third level is beneath the water level of the Stoneflow tributary and is partially flooded with 2-4 feet of water depending on the season and local water table – on particularly dry years the water may recede to only flooding level 4. The room furthest from the river on the eastern side of the complex is elevated from the rest of the level and remains damp but unflooded.
The fourth level on the other hand is completely flooded. Something dark has formed down here in the waters – a creature of watery shadows whose small young swim around in the waters of the third level attempting to ‘claim’ any who venture into those waters.
*The 1200 dpi versions of the map were drawn at a scale of 300 pixels per square and are 9,000 x 5,400 pixels (30 x 18 squares). To use this with a VTT you would need to resize the squares to either 100 pixels (for 5′ squares) or 200 pixels (for 10‘ squares) – so resizing the image to 3,000 x 1,800 or 6,000 x 3,600 pixels, respectively.*
