First time DMing, need help pls

Description

Starting my first ever DnD campaign as DM, decided to homebrew and now I've gone through a couple drafts now and I feel fairly happy with how the world looks, though I do have a question and figured this was the best place to get it answered. My big worry is that my oceans are WAY too small, is this something that I can just say are bigger during sessions and that the map is not to scale? or is that a poor way of doing things?

Also if you have any other advice on the map feel free to share, I'm always open to improvements.
