#**Old Nanna Gammage's Ruin (20x20)**

The villagers used to walk over to Old Nanna Gammage’s every so often.

She was getting on a bit, and couldn’t get out to market as often as she used to. They’d leave cut wood in her store, the odd basket of eggs or bit of meat in a basket at her doorstep, and she’d wave thanks to them from her chair by the fire.

Then they started to notice the baskets weren’t being taken in.  Strange noises began to be heard from the cottage. Eventually, a bold woodcutter from the village decided to ‘do the decent thing’ and go up there to lay Old Nanna to rest respectfully.

What he saw or heard, nobody ever found out. He returned at full sprint with ashen face, packed a few things, and fled with his wife and children without saying a single word.
