Seeking advice from Advanced Map Makers

I'd consider myself an intermediate map maker on inkarnate but I am in need of some help with a couple things. I will outline them below.
1. I am struggling with how to make open grass plains areas look interesting. The section of map in the south and to the left of the desert area is a big fertile open plains area with lots of space for farmland etc. but I just don't know how to make it look more interesting on a map than just keeping it flat and green. What are some things good map makers do to either add texture or what assets do they litter around these kinds of areas to bring them to life?
2. This one is more general, but of the best looking maps out there they often have such detail and even look 3d with the shading on the mountains or lighting tricks they use. I've looked online for videos but can't really find anything great specific to world maps. Does anyone have advice to really make a map pop? I want to make something I am extremely proud of.
3. Any general feedback on this map is welcome. It is still a work in progress so there is much to be added, and any suggestions are welcome.
PS. Full transparency, I used the shape of another map from inkarnate for this map as I loved it so much. I have made many other maps that are wholly original as well.
