Difficult_Dingo1810Description
After about 2 years of edits and wipes, to start new i finally felt comfortable enough to feel like I'm close to finished, and looking for helpful critique, as well as general feedback.
Eventually it might expand into more than a North Western Region of a continent, or simply just stand as it's own. Thanks in advance!
Corronath is a world of quiet stability shaped by the small and subtle inconsistencies. Cities stand tall, trade flows along the roads and over the oceans. Its people live their lives much as they always have.-but beneath the normalcy lies something ever so slightly out of alignment. The land itself is not broken, nor in open crisis. Instead, it behaves in a way that is difficult to explain, and even harder to understand, where small irregularities occur without any clear cause and rarely with lasting consequences.
In Corronath, most of the world’s systems still function. Roads connect the distance regions, trade moves from city to city. Institutions maintain order where they can. Yet there are moments-although brief and often overlooked- where things do not behave as expected. A minor delay corrects itself, a memory that does not fully match reality, or a pattern with repeitition with no reason. These are not treated as a disaster, but more so, a part of the world as it is.
The quiet tone of Corronath is one of an uneasy calm over a world of constant danger. Chaos and catastrophe do not define it, but there is a quiet sense that something is no longer consistent. Most days generally pass without incident, and most of the populace live without fear. Instead, they adapt, adjust, and continue forward, treating irregularities as something to be managed rather then confronting them.
That is not say mystery doesn’t exist, but it’s not of the utmost urgency. Answers are not always sought, and when they are, most are never found. The world is not demanding attention-it reveals itself albeit rather slowly. Most of the moments that it does so are rather easy to miss, or to ignore them entirely. What matters is not what is happening, but how the people might choose to respond to it.
Stories set in Corronath are not usually driven by world ending threats, and are more about discovery, movement, perspective. They usually follow the individuals who travel between regions, taking on work when and where it is needed most, and encounter a world that simply behaves differently enough to raise a question. These stories often begin-with a job, a journey, or as little as a conversation- developing into something more as patterns emerge, or at the lsit noticed.
Some of these stories might even focus on action: caravan escorts, hunting dangerous creatures for prestige among the Adventurers Guild, or resolving disputes that no amount of talking resolves. Others might be quieter, centered solely on obervation, choices the people make, and realization that not everything is stable as it seems. In all cases the world does not push itself forward-the characters move through it, and in doing so, might come to begin understanding it.
Corronath is not a world that demands saving. It is a world inviting attention-and rewards those who take the time to look beneath the surface.
