Need help with conveying scale in my map

Been running 2 campaigns in my homebrew world, one for around 1.5 years and the other one for around 6 months.
I created this map when I started and slowly added more towns and POIs. I had some free time lately and I wanted to try and improve it. My main issue with this map is:
1. The sense of scale I feel like it is lacking. The continent is 460 miles at it's widest and around 400 miles at it's highest. I don't know if it's just me but the map feels small. What can I do to make it feel bigger?
2. Some areas are quite empty and I am not sure how to fill them without just throwing some random trees. I really like how the swamp at the south turned out but I followed a YouTube tutorial for it so can't take all the credit.
