Highland Reaches — Three Rugged Highland Locations

**Heyya folks — I’ve put together some more "highland" maps for ya.**
This trio leans into the rougher side of the highlands: a quiet basin tucked between rises, a ridge marked by an ancient tree, and a stretch of broken shelves that make every approach matter. They’re straightforward to run, easy to drop into travel sequences, and flexible enough to support scouting, ambushes, or simple waypoints along the road.
I'm calling them Highland Reaches (sounds thematic)
**Starbloom Basin — 30×24**
A sheltered basin where water gathers and starblooms cluster along the stone. The two flanking rises give you natural elevation shifts and clean approach paths.
**Stone‑Root Barrow — 28×22**
A ridge topped by a half‑petrified tree whose roots grip the rock. The slope leading up to it creates a natural focal point for encounters or quieter moments. It’s that classic “tree on the hill overlooking a drop” setup.
**The Shatter Steppes — 30×24**
A run of fractured shelves and broken stone. The uneven ground and scattered cover make it a strong fit for tense movement or sudden conflict — the perfect random‑encounter space among these locations.
These maps work well for overland travel/wilderness encounters, story locations, or as simple drop‑ins when the party needs a place to pause.
If you’d like the high‑resolution files, gridless versions, the full set of atmospheric variants (there’s a lot), the VTT‑ready exports, and the encounter packs for each location, they’re available on my Patreon:

Thanks for taking a look and I hope they serve you well at the table.
