# The Isle of Avalon & the Fallen Kingdom of Camelot

This map and setting is a full re-imagining of the many Arthurian Legends. I thought it would be fun to create my own spin on the original story, while also creating a custom setting that would also work well as a D&D or TTRPG setting.

I imagine a few people will look at this map and the history I wrote and go “*well that's all wrong, XYZ happened in the original stories*”. This is all intentional on my part, most of what's written for this map/setting is NOT the same as you might remember it. A lot of it is "remixed", and some parts are completely changed. This is something new, but still inspired by the old myths. And, let’s be honest, there are already *many* different versions out there of the original stories, often contradictory sometimes. This version of mine just goes a step further in reinventing everything.

The history on the side bar mostly details a time period far *after* the death of King Arthur and friends. This map depicts the island roughly 500 years later, in the mid 1200's. Avalon was lost, Camelot fell into ruin, but now it has been rediscovered. There's many mysteries to uncover now, many magical artifacts to seek out, and many dangers and enemies to overcome.

This map is 4020 by 3340 pixels, and was created entirely in Photoshop. A few royalty free images were used for city location icons, and lightly modified by myself. No AI tools were used, in the creation of the map, or in the writing. All in all, this took about 35 hours of work from start to finish.
