Boyopur village map - and a question

Description

This is Boyopur, a hill village in the realm of Kaung Pi. I tried to model the terrain with shading and without stamps. I received some feedback that the stream is hard to read. I hoped the terrain would make it clear that it flows down the hill, but apparently, I need some stronger visual cues. Any suggestions?

Also, is the landscape too smooth, should I add some texture to it?
